What the site measures
On the production domain, Threadonomist uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and a short list of editorial interactions: opening an evidence brief, following a numbered note or source, selecting an evidence stage, changing the theme and reaching 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of an article. Source clicks record the destination domain, not the full destination URL.
Local storage and cookies
The chosen light or dark theme is stored in the browser's local storage. Threadonomist does not set advertising cookies, accept user accounts or run third-party advertising trackers. The pages still work when browser storage is unavailable.
Hosting
The site and analytics are hosted by Vercel. Like other web hosts, Vercel necessarily processes request information to deliver and secure the service. Its handling of that information is governed by Vercel's privacy policy.
