Threadonomist publishes essays that make one consequential argument at a time. The aim is not to sound neutral. It is to be interesting, exact and honest about what the record can bear.
Issue 2 follows one live criminal case. Its articles audit what the public record can bear and argue neither guilt nor innocence. Admitted exhibits are reproduced uncropped, for criticism, behind a content note; the model code, inputs and sources are downloadable so the work can be checked.
Who is responsible
Ian Todd chooses the subjects, makes the editorial judgments and is accountable for every published claim. AI systems assist with research, drafting, graphics, coding and adversarial review. Their use is disclosed; responsibility is not delegated to them.

Threadonomist is independently made and funded. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or part of The Economist or The Economist Group.
